Matthew Richard Hiscock Ecstasy Arrest
March 10, 2007 Matthew Richard Hiscock a cruise ship passenger on P & O Pacific Star was Arrested With Ecstasy
Matthew Richard Hiscock, 34, and Jessica Hay Harrison, 37, appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court charged with one count each of possessing a false foreign travel document.
Hiscock was also charged with attempting to export a quantity of border controlled drugs, specifically ecstasy.
Hiscock and Harrison were stopped by Australian Customs Service officers while attempting to board the Noumea-bound cruise ship at Hamilton, in Brisbane's inner north, on Saturday.
A Customs spokesman said officers inspected the UK travel documents presented by the pair and noticed there was no record that either person had entered Australia, and that no record existed of either person having been issued with a visa.
On closer inspection, alerted by customs, Australian Federal Police (AFP), allegedly found a small amount of MDMA (ecstasy) powder inside the Hiscock's suitcase.
Inquiries were also made with the Department of Immigration and Citizenship regarding the travel documents.
Neither Hiscock or Harrison applied for bail or entered a plea.
Court documents showed Hiscock was wanted in relation to skipping probation last year. A warrant was issued after he had allegedly failed to report to police while on probation for previous charges including possessing dangerous drugs and receiving stolen property
The matter was adjourned until March 16, 2007.
